Service to Others
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." quote by Gandhi.
I recently saw this quote written on the wall in the lobby of a hospital and realized immediately that despite my regular career of saving lives through surgery, I welcome the opportunity to reach out and help others through service in anyway possible. This is when I experience my greatest satisfaction.
As we come to the close of another year and about to begin a new year, consider the pleasure that can be obtained through reaching out and touching the lives of so many children, young people or even adults and elderly who could benefit from our time. No matter how busy we are, we can reach forward and get involved.
Here are some opportunities that might move you to make a difference:
Mentor a young child - check it out at www.mentoring.com. I got involved. How about you?
Help our veterans - donate time, money or anything possible - make a difference by helping.
Join a neighborhood group and together you can "give it forward" in service.
